Bayview (Darwin), Northern Territory
Centrepiece marina of a modern residential estate at Bayview, the most likely place in Darwin to obtain a rental berth, with berths from 9 to 21 m for monohulls and multihulls. Lock access is restricted to 7.25 m beam and 2.5 m draft and the creek approach needs about 4 m of tide; contact the lockmaster (VHF Ch 68, callsign 'Bayview Lock') to book entry.
Cullen Bay (Darwin), Northern Territory
Darwin's premier marina, home to over 250 vessels in a lock-controlled basin with all-tides access (max LOA 25 m, beam 8.5 m, draft 2.5-3 m; lock runs 6am-11pm on the hour, VHF Ch 11). Facilities include an internal slipway, waste pump-out, 24-hour staffing and security, showers and laundry, with restaurants, bars and cafes fringing the marina; a 24-hour self-service fuel dock sits outside the lock.
Dundee Beach, Northern Territory
Popular recreational fishing launch site about two hours from Darwin, rebuilt in a $12.44 million NT Government upgrade completed June 2025 with a reconstructed groyne, fishing platform and walkway jetty allowing land-based fishing and short-term mooring. The ramp is tide-dependent (accessible above ~2.8 m); Dundee Lodge nearby provides fuel, food and a licensed bar.
Frances Bay (Darwin), Northern Territory
NT Government-run mooring basin known locally as the Duck Pond, used mostly by Darwin's pearling, prawn and fishing fleets. The tide-free basin is accessed through a 35 m x 16 m lock and has 85 berths for vessels up to 30 m, with showers and toilets but no fuel; vehicles can drive onto the docks for loading and heavy maintenance.
Stuart Park (Darwin), Northern Territory
Cyclone-rated tidal marina at 86 Frances Bay Drive, Stuart Park, minutes from Darwin's CBD, accessed via a lock with a lockmaster on hand. Its 73 berths take boats up to 22 m and it is the only Darwin marina offering full liveaboard amenities, with a supermarket, bottleshop, fast food, restaurants, chandlery and bus stop around the estate.
