About the marina
Christmas Cove at Penneshaw is a small council harbour/marina facility, not a full-service private marina. Kangaroo Island Council's current boating facilities page lists Christmas Cove among the island's five maintained boat launching facilities. It shows a self-registration station, a temporary free-launching period from 1 November 2025 to 30 November 2026, a mooring pontoon, mooring berth and breakwater. Council remains the berth enquiry contact. Historic material suggests 19 berths, but the current council page is a better source for what can be safely promised today.
Berthing & shoreside services
Council verifies boat launching, mooring pontoon, mooring berth and breakwater facilities, and takes leased-berth enquiries. Current public council material does not verify fuel, shore power, showers, laundry, pump-out, travel lift or hardstand as current visitor services. Historic 19-berth detail should be treated as older context unless Council confirms the current berth plan.
Local context in YouSail
This is directory context, not navigation advice. Check current charts, notices and official boating resources before passage.
Christmas Cove is sheltered once inside but shallow entry and local conditions need care. Contact Council for berth access and check current ramp/launching arrangements before arrival.
